Which types of heavy vehicles are subject to the Vehicle Parking Certificate Scheme ?

The following are subject to the Vehicle Parking Certificate Scheme:

• Heavy goods vehicles and concrete mixers exceeding 5,000 kg in maximum laden weight (MLW)
  
• Buses with seating capacity exceeding 15 passengers
  
• Trailers, including container trailers, low loaders and flat bed trailers exceeding 5,000 kg in MLW
  
• Mobile cranes and recovery vehicles exceeding 2,500 kg in unladen weight (ULW)

When do I need to apply for a Vehicle Parking Certificate ?

You need to apply for a Vehicle Parking Certificate when doing the following:

• Renewal of road tax
  
• Transfer of parking arrangement from one parking place to another.
  
• Transfer of parking arrangement from one vehicle to another
  
• Transfer of vehicle ownership
  
• Registration of new vehicles
  
• Re-registration of laid-up vehicles

How do I apply for a Vehicle Parking Certificate from URA for my vehicle/trailer which is parked at a URA heavy vehicle park?

If you park your vehicle/trailer at a URA heavy vehicle park, you can apply for a Vehicle Parking Certificate from us in one of the following ways:

1. Submit your application online.
1. Vehicle with existing season parking ticket
2. Trailer with Existing Reserved Parking Lots

Note: On clicking, the motorist is to indicate whether the application is to be made for a vehicle parking in a season parking lot or a trailer reserved parking lot.

I have a URA season parking ticket for my heavy vehicle. How do I renew my Vehicle Parking Certificate (VPC) ?

If you are already renewing your season parking ticket by GIRO and you have been issued a VPC before, your VPC will be renewed automatically by GIRO as well. One month before your current VPC expires, we will send you a letter of notification requesting confirmation that you wish to renew the VPC.

If you are still not using GIRO to renew your season parking ticket, you can apply to renew your VPC in one of the following ways:

You can apply to renew your VPC in one of the following ways:

May I transfer my Vehicle Parking Certificate from one vehicle to another ?

No, Vehicle Parking Certificates are non-transferable

I have a Vehicle Parking Certificate (VPC) issued by URA. Do I have to inform URA if I secure an alternative parking place for my vehicle ?

Yes, if the VPC issued by URA is still valid. When you notify us, you will need to produce the following documents:

• The original VPC issued by URA. Under the Parking Places (Parking of Heavy Vehicles), you will be guilty of an offence if you do not return the VPC to us for cancellation.
• The VPC issued by the operator of the new parking place. This is to prove that the vehicle is parked at an authorised parking place.
